MEET THE WESTERN TREE SERVICE MANAGEMENT TEAM

Alden Pedersen, President: Growing up in his family-owned sawmill in Big Bear Lake, Alden was instilled with a love and respect for trees. Following his University of California education, he began working in the care of trees in 1974. One of the first Certified Arborists in San Diego County, Alden was instrumental in creating the Professional Tree Care Association of San Diego (PTCA) in 1985 and is a past president. He remains active in the Association, working on educational programs and the annual PTCA Seminar. Alden is a highly respected arborist in the region and is frequently called upon for his expert opinion and evaluations. He was recently honored by his peers with the PTCA Bob Bichowsky Memorial Service Award for “Outstanding knowledge of arboriculture, unflagging perseverance, and selfless dedication to our industry."

Nik Sieben, Operations Manager: Nik has been with Western Tree Service for more than twenty years and is both a Certified Arborist and Certified Tree Worker. Starting as a ground worker, he has progressed through diligent practice and education to become a highly respected arborist and representative. Nik continues to stay on top of the latest research and is often called upon for his deep knowledge of tree pruning techniques as well as evaluating current challenges to tree health in our changing environment. He manages several Master Homeowner Associations and is responsible for major construction contracts. Nik is TRAQ qualified.

Robert Squibb, Field Superintendent: Bob has been with Western Tree Service for over fifteen years and in addition brought several years of valuable experience from his previous employment. Bob is both a Certified Arborist and a Certified Tree Worker and is also a Qualified Pest Control Applicator. He is a past president of PTCA and is highly regarded by our clients for his expert analyses and tree evaluations. He works closely with several Master Homeowner Associations and has managed the tree program at Legoland since the Park opened.

Michael Squibb, Supervising Arborist: Mike has been with Western Tree Service for more than twenty years and is a highly respected ISA Certified Arborist. He is an expert in every aspect of large tree pruning and removal and teaches rigging techniques at the annual PTCA Seminar to other arborists. He is our Safety Manager and leads workshops teaching safe work practices. Michael is TRAQ qualified and TCSP certified.

Ricki Pedersen, Office/Customer Service Manager: Ricki holds a Business degree from SDSU and has been with Western Tree Service since its founding. She handles all customer contacts and is happy to schedule estimates, meetings, and work schedules.
